City Of Hanford Passes Resolution Against California Sanctuary State Law

Passage Is Seen As Largely Symbolic

The City Of Hanford has just passed a resolution stating that they oppose the California sanctuary state law that forbids local law enforcement from cooperating with Federal immigration officials on a number of levels when it comes to undocumented immigrants, such as when prisoners will be released, and informing ICE agents of other interactions with undocumented immigrants.

At this point the resolution is largely symbolic.  The resolution as worded primarily means that the city does not approve of the state interfering with the city of Hanford's cooperation and interaction with Federal officials.   More on this story tonight at 11.
