The lead keyboardist and backing vocalist for the legendary rock band Aerosmith will be performing in Fresno.
Thursday Buck Johnson and his band stopped by the studio ahead of their West Coast tour.
"I started singing with my parents, I am from Alabama," says Buck Johnson.
From churches to bars Buck Johnson has been performing for as long as he can remember, but his career took a turn three years.
"Then I got a call from Steven Tyler from Aerosmith, I was in Alabama visiting my mom, he called from Istanbul and the next day I was on a plane to Istanbul and I have been with them for three years," he says.
Johnson is the keyboardist and back up vocalist for the legendary rock band Aerosmith.
"The privilege of getting to perform music for a living is amazing, but to do it with your heroes, Steven is unbelievable he is an inspiration."
Johnson also has his own career with his own group "The Buck Johnson Band."
They released an album and are going on tour.
"It is another dream come true to get my own songs out there outside," says Johnson.
Johnson has worked with his band members for years, but the drummer, a Kingsburg native, joined just a months ago.
"Getting the call from Dean to say hey Buck Johnson from Aerosmith needs a drummer, I said I don't know anybody, he was like no we want you," says Matt Hopson.
They will tour the northwest before heading back here to California.
"We wrap up in Fresno at the end of March with some meet and greets and special events," says manager Dean Kasparian.
In case you were wondering if Johnson has a favorite song to perform with Aerosmith, he does.
"You can't help to get chills when you perform dream on everybody can identify with that," says Johnson.
Buck Johnson Band will be in Fresno March 24th at the The Tower Theatre Lounge.
