Breaking News: Fresno Police Car Hit By Alleged Drunk Driver

The accident happened in the area of Olive and Golden State around 10:30 Tuesday night. Olive Avenue was blocked off both east and westbound while Officers conducted their investigation.

A Honda Civic allegedly rear ended a patrol vehicle,  and Police tell Eyewitness News that the driver, an unidentified man in his 20's, was under the influence of Alcohol at the time of the crash. " There was only one person in the Honda Civic, he was the driver, he is a 20-year old hispanic male adult, he was not part of the Mardi Gras celebration but he was drinking at a local establishment in this immediate area.  We're going to have to see what in fact he was doing and if he was drinking inside that bar" said Lt. Stephen Viveros of the Fresno Police Department.

Police say the driver of the Honda Civic was taken to the hospital because he was complaining of pain.  Also, two female officers from the Southwest District were transported due to complaints of pain. All those involved in the crash are expected to be OK.
