Fresno Police are on the scene of a double shooting on the 900 block of East Spruce near First and Herndon in Northeast Fresno. According to Sgt. Rudy Tafoya officers were alerted to a shooting inside a home after a panic alarm went off at approximately 8:45. Officers arrived and found the front door to the residence had been kicked in. Officers entered the residence to check on the occupants and found two shooting victims, an unidentified white male and asian female, both in their 30's. Both had been shot in the upper torso several times. Detectives are on scene talking with neighbors to see if there were any witnesses to the shooting. The condition of the victims is unknown, though Tafoya describes their wounds as life threatening.
Tafoya says that this is normally a quiet neighborhood, and it appears that the victims were targeted. The motive remains unclear. In the event that this becomes a homicide case investigators are expected to be on scene for hours. There are no suspects in custody and none have been identified.
