Breaking: Fresno Teen Critical After Being Shot In Head

Others Present At Scene Being Interviewed By Police

Tonight a teenager is in critical condition after being shot at an apartment complex in South Fresno. The shooting happened inside of an apartment at a complex in the 1400 block of South Chestnut. The call came in Thursday afternoon as an accidental shooting. Investigators were told during the 911 call that the teen had accidentally shot himself.
When officers arrived the teen was found with a gunshot wound to the head and rushed to CRMC where he remains in critical condition. Now investigators conducting interviews to determine what happened. 

"We are now attempting to confirm that this was a self-inflicted gunshot wound and that he was not shot by someone else in the apartment. There were other people inside the apartment when the shooting occurred we currently have those individuals both here and at police headquarters and we are currently conducting interviews to confirm their statements", said Sgt. Andre Benson of the Fresno Police Department.  Investigators tell the the teen who was shot was a guest at the home where the incident happened.
