Record Temperatures in the Valley

The mercury hit 102 in Fresno Sunday, breaking a more than 20-year old record.
It's a classic summer sound, jangling boats being towed into the water.

"We are going to find a lagoon in there, put the anchor out and swim and eat and have fun," said boater Tammy Winiger.

Record setting temperatures drew boaters and swimmers alike to Millerton Lake and while the first day of summer is still more than a month away, summer like temperatures made Millerton the place to be.

"Bathing, getting a tan or in there swimming with their children or with their family and friends it's definitely an increase in visitation once the temperatures reach the 90's," said Park Ranger Mark De Leon.

In Fresno the mercury touched 102 at the airport, breaking the previous record of 100 set in 1987 and leaving many planning to celebrate mother’s day in the sun rethinking their plans.
