A man was killed in a hit and run in Tulare County.
The victim was driving a stolen car on Highway 99 near Traver early Monday morning when the vehicle broke down.
There were a total of 9 people in the car, including 6 children.
When the driver stepped out of the stalled vehicle, he was struck and killed by a passing big rig, that did not stop after hitting the man.
Brian Avery with the California Highway Patrol said, "The vehicle had stalled in the lane. The driver went to exit the vehicle and then a passing vehicle struck the door and the driver of the vehicle."
The truck was later traced to a Fresno County company.
So far the driver has not been charged but only questioned.
