Dinuba's McMaryion chooses Oregon State

Marcus McMaryion led all Central Section quarterbacks in yards, touchdowns and efficiency rating in 2012. And that caught the attention of several big-name colleges, including Oregon State, to which he committed on Friday.

There's a reason we picked Dinuba's Marcus McMaryion to be the On Your Sidelines Player of the Year.

He's good.

And his numbers proved it, in addition to catching the attention of several big-name colleges; on Friday, he decided to become an Oregon State Beaver.

McMaryion gave his verbal commitment to the Pac-12 school two days after visiting the campus. He becomes the second member of the Beavers' 2014 recruiting class.

McMaryion also held an offer from Arizona and had interest from at least 20 other schools.

As a junior last year at Dinuba High, McMaryion had 3,477 yards and 43 touchdowns, tops of all the Central Section quarterbacks.

Privileged to say I will be playing my College football for Coach Riley at Oregon State!! #BeaverNation, he tweeted.
