For those wondering when Barbie (Mike Vogel) and Julia (Rachelle Lefevre) will finally just succumb to their chemistry, Under the Dome will start to venture down that path in the wake of Monday's episode.

Going Under the Dome: Neal Baer answers burning questions on why the military has left

During the episode, the military will bus in those residents of Chester's Mill that were left outside of the dome for Visitors' Day. But even all those reuniting families won't make for a happy occasion. Because the dome has begun to affect the outside world in more ways than one, the military plans to shoot a missile at the town in hopes of destroying the dome.  The devastating destruction will be a catalyst for Barbie and Julia to start fresh.

"Jack Bender, who directed [Monday's episode], said 'Guys, this is your Adam-and-Eve moment. There's been all this destruction and this is the beginning of something,'" Lefevre said at Sunday's Comic-Con panel. "They have a long way to go and a lot to talk about, but there's something there that's hard to deny."

But the question remains whether they can actually find happiness with Barbie still withholding the fact that he killed Julia's husband. "As to what put him in the town and his past secrets, it complicates things more, throwing Julia into the mix," Vogel said. "There's a lot of accusations thrown against Barbie, but there's a lot of good that he's done while he's here, so he'll have to reconcile that."

Going Under the Dome: Neal Baer answers burning questions on "dome fever"

Elsewhere in the town, we'll also soon learn more about Big Jim's (Dean Norris) connection to Coggins (Ned Bellamy) and the propane. "There will be some mysterious women coming to town," executive producer Neal Baer said. "Well, they're not coming to town, they were trapped under there as well. There are some people you haven't met yet and they'll be crucial to unfurling this story."

And as for crazy Junior (Alexander Koch), Norris noted that we'll learn more about his motivations for keeping Angie (Britt Robertson) in the fall-out shelter. "His deceased mother comes into play a bit," Norris said. "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree."

The producers noted that most of the character-driven mysteries will be solved by the close of Season 1, but there will be questions left up in the air. "We're going to give you more secrets that will then be uncovered," Baer said. One answer we will get? Whether the dome is actually a dome or a sphere, which will be answered in Episode 7. The cast is actually shooting the season finale now, which will leave the story open-ended. "It ends with a hell of a cliff-hanger, so if we're not lucky enough to come back for a second season, you're screwed," executive producer Brian K. Vaughn said.

Under the Dome airs Mondays at 10/9c on CBS.
