Tony Amundsen leaving Bullard for Clovis North

Clovis North won its first D-I football title in the fall, its first D-I baseball title last week, and now the Broncos got the basketball coach they wanted to help them get a D-I title in that sport: Tony Amundsen.

As if Clovis North needs to get better in athletics.

The Broncos won their first D-I football title in the fall, their first D-I baseball title last week.

And now they got the basketball coach they wanted to help them get a D-I title in that sport: Tony Amundsen.

The Fresno Bee is reporting it won't be official until the district board approves it Wednesday, but that's obviously expected to happen.

It's a huge loss for Bullard, which has won three straight valley championships under Amundsen. He's been there five years and has an overall record of 119-38.

Amundsen, 42, was the Cal-Hi Sports Coach of the Year in 2012 when he led the Knights to the Southern California Regional Finals. His coaching career started at Central; he spent four years there before taking over at Bullard.
