A bill that would have pushed 'last call' at bars from 2:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m has failed, after a State Senate Committee voted it down.
Opponents say California already has a tough time with alcohol related issues and longer bar hours would only make things worse.
Supporters wanted the extra tax money from the bars staying open later.
