The grand opening of the Rue and Gwen Gibson Farm Market was held Monday, March 18th at 10:00 a.m.
The building is a 1.5 million dollar gift from the Gibson family.
The Fresno State Farm Market began decades ago as a roadside produce stand.
In 1986 it moved inside a packing plant. In the 1990s walls and a ceiling were built around the market space.
The new building is 4,800 suqare feet. It sells all the Farm Market favorites but also has new amenities like a full-service ice cream counter.
The new location is just south of the old market that was on the corner of Chestnut and Barstow, east of the Fresno State campus.
