Contestants in Fresno for the Miss California Pageant got a special reception hosted by Rotarians and members of the Visitors and Convention Bureau.
The Miss California Pageant brings in a lot of money to the local economy each year.
Miss California Chair, Gilbert Nye said, "It's a chance to show them that we appreciate the pageant being her in Fresno, California. It brings about a million dollars to Fresno during this week, so it's important for our economy as well."
The competition begins Tuesday at the Saroyan Theater.
The winner will be crowned on Saturday.
