Max Schuh, Aaron Weimer headed to the College World Series

The UCLA baseball team is headed to Omaha this week for the College World Series. Pitcher Max Schuh (Edison HS) and catcher Aaron Weimer (Bullard HS) will be there with the Bruins.

Does the name Max Schuh ring a bell?

He's a former two-sport athlete at Edison High School who helped the Tigers win valley titles in baseball (2008) and football (2009).

Schuh is now a redshirt sophomore at UCLA. And since arriving on campus he's suited up for both the Bruins' baseball and football teams; Schuh was a UCLA quarterback in 2010 and 2011, but did not play. He joined the baseball team in the fall of 2012.

That baseball team is on its way to the College World Series.

UCLA defeated Cal State Fullerton in the Super Regionals on Saturday, advancing to its third College World Series in four years.

Schuh is a relief pitcher for the Bruins. He's appeared in 12 games this season (2.1 IP) and has yet to allow an earned run.

Opening Day ceremonies in Omaha are this Friday, June 14th. By the way, UCLA also has ex-Bullard catcher Aaron Weimer on its roster.
