Jenny Toste co-anchors and does the weather for Eyewitness News This Morning and does the weather for Eyewitness News At Noon. She's won a Regional Emmy Award for her on-air talents and was honored with the Fresno County Farm Bureau Media Award for a story she did on the local wine industry. Jenny also does weekly segments like "Golf Tips" and "Jenny Around Town," which promotes local business, and she's been in the valley for nearly a decade, getting her start at KSEE 24 as a hard news reporter and anchor, in addition to weather, before moving to CBS47. She enjoys covering positive local stories about upcoming events, cool new places, or outstanding achievements, as well as weather and agriculture-related topics.
Jenny's a proud Baylor Bear, graduating Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the Texas university. While in college, she interned for a Senior Producer at Good Morning, America in New York City, as well as the local CBS station in Waco. She also spent a summer in Spain and minored in Spanish, earning a spot in Sigma Delta Pi, the Spanish Honor Society. Jenny studied all types of literature as a University Scholar at Baylor and went on to earn her Masters in English Literature from Fresno State while working early mornings and raising her young son. She credits her husband for supporting her in all of her crazy ambitions.
In her rare free time, Jenny enjoys going to the mountains with her family, drinking local wine on the deck and taking in the wonder of the big trees, (trying to) fish, or skiing. She and her husband also play golf together, watch 80s movies, and love football. Jenny is a writer at heart & is currently working on a book of "busy mom stories" in the style of Anne Lamott. She sympathizes with all the women out there who are trying to somehow "balance" it all. Jenny also volunteers locally, serving on the Executive Committee for the "Light the Night" Walk benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and hosting multiple community events, like the Heart Association's "Heart Walk."
Jenny grew up near Washington, DC in Maryland, since her dad was a Navy doctor, and she also lived in North Carolina, where her family's from (Go, Blue Devils!). She spent her teen years in San Diego, where she was on the swim team and tennis team and a National Merit Scholar. But now Jenny considers herself a valley girl. She married a teacher from a Portuguese family in the valley, and she loves living in the country with her dogs, room to roam, and all of her fruit trees. She enjoys the simple things in life - like cooking a good meal, baking or canning things from her garden, a dip in the spa - and she's grateful to God to be here in Fresno, starting your day off with a smile.
